In the 1980's I ordered a Navy Arms Co., Rolling Block barreled action chambered for 50/70 Government cartridge. I had the chamber reamed to accommodate the 50-140-3 1/4 Sharps Straight cartridge. I stocked the rifle myself and ordered a heavy unfinished cast brass Swiss hook butt plate from Dixie Gun Works (I don't know why - just because it was unique, I guess). It was a fun, huge cartridge designed for buffalo hunting. I sold the rifle and moved on to the Shiloh Sharps .40 caliber rifles.
